In summer, all children and teens up to the age of 18 enjoy all-inclusive drinks. From 10:30 am to 6:00 pm, there are daily changing children’s meals, ice cream whenever they like, their own children’s buffet for dinner and alcohol-free drinks from the drinks station and children’s menu until 11:00 pm.

For more than 15 years, head chef Georg Berger has shaped the Sonngastein dining experience with his unmistakable style. His award-winning cuisine combines seasonal ingredients, regional origin and great care in preparation – from the first course to dessert. This consistent quality and attention to detail are key reasons why many guests return to Sonngastein year after year.
For the perfect start to the day, Inge Harlander takes care of breakfast. She has also been part of Hotel Sonngastein for more than 17 years. She leads the breakfast service and welcomes guests each morning with warmth and genuine hospitality, making breakfast far more than just the first meal of the day.

At Sonngastein, a good dinner does not end with the final course. Often, this is exactly when the part of the evening begins that guests remember most fondly: a carefully selected glass of wine, a hand-mixed cocktail or a special whisky enjoyed in good company.
Our sommelier Emma curates a varied wine selection featuring Austrian classics and international discoveries. Restaurant manager and certified bartender Stefan creates stylish cocktails and mocktails at the piano bar. At our wine and whisky tastings, guests can also enjoy tasteful Sonngastein highlights in the cosy atmosphere of the Kaminstüberl.

A long holiday day at Hotel Sonngastein does not have to end with a delicious evening meal. This is where the evening truly begins. In the piano bar with dance floor, handcrafted drinks meet good conversations, laughter and late-night moments. On the terrace by the bar, you can breathe in the fresh mountain air and enjoy stunning views across the valley during the day. The stylish lounge offers a calm and cosy atmosphere, while the warm fireplace room invites you to unwind beside a crackling fire and a small library – a place where guests are happy to linger just a little longer.
Which meals are included in the stay?
The Sonngastein culinary experience includes an extensive breakfast buffet, an afternoon snack and served five- to seven-course dinner menus with a salad buffet.
Regular themed evenings and festive gala dinners complete the programme. The kitchen combines high-quality, predominantly regional ingredients with varied Austrian and international dishes.
Vegetarian dishes are available. Please note that we do not offer fully vegan catering.
Which drinks are included in the non-alcoholic all-inclusive offer?
Branded non-alcoholic drinks such as Coca-Cola, Fanta, Sprite, iced tea and Almdudler, as well as coffee and tea specialities, are available to adults and children throughout the day.
Alcoholic drinks, wines and special bar drinks are not included and are charged separately.
At what times are meals served?
The breakfast buffet is served daily from 7:45 am to 10:30 am.
The afternoon snack is available from 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm. Dinner begins at 6:30 pm. On gala-dinner evenings, the menu begins at 7:00 pm.
Guests will be informed in good time of any seasonal or organisational changes.
Is there a special summer dining offer for children and teenagers?
Yes. During summer, children and teenagers up to the age of 18 enjoy additional all-inclusive services.
These include changing child-friendly dishes that can be ordered throughout the day, as well as ice cream. This complements breakfast, the afternoon snack and dinner together with the family.
Can allergies and food intolerances be accommodated?
Please inform us of allergies, food intolerances and special dietary requirements when making your enquiry or booking whenever possible.
The kitchen team will then explain personally which dishes and adjustments can be provided during your stay.
As not every dietary requirement or severe intolerance can be safely accommodated within the regular kitchen routine, advance consultation is particularly important. Fully vegan catering is not available.
