Alongside our varied weekly programme, you can also book ski and tennis lessons during your family holiday in Austria. Our certified tennis coach works with children of all ages and adults – individually, with a focus on technique and enjoyment. On the slopes, beginners and advanced skiers alike gain valuable experience – from first turns in the snow to refining their skills. In cooperation with one of the largest ski schools in the Gastein Valley, you can book a convenient all-in-one ski package including transfers, lunch supervision and meals. Which families is a holiday at Hotel Sonngastein suitable for?
Sonngastein is suitable for families with young children, school-age children and teenagers, as well as for holidays shared by children, parents and grandparents.
Childcare, a dedicated teen programme, spacious family rooms, wellness facilities, sports and shared activities provide freedom for every generation while leaving plenty of time for memorable family experiences.
From what age is childcare available?
Childcare is available for toilet-trained children from the age of three. It is offered from Monday to Friday for a total of 42 hours per week.
The programme includes games, creative activities, exercise, nature experiences and selected excursions in the surrounding area. The exact activities are published in the current weekly programme.
Does Sonngastein also offer a programme for teenagers?
Yes. Teenagers can enjoy their own leisure programme with up to 30 hours of activities per week. Depending on the season, the programme may include sports, games, tournaments, excursions and shared evening activities.
Teenagers can also use their own youth room, the indoor adventure hall and numerous sports and leisure facilities throughout the hotel.
What can families do when the weather is bad?
The centrepiece of the all-weather facilities is the 1,700 m² indoor adventure hall with 38 attractions, which is open every day.
Families can also enjoy the pool area, the hotel cinema, the indoor tennis courts and a wide range of other indoor play, sports and activity facilities within the hotel.
Do parents also have time for themselves during a family holiday?
Yes. While children take part in childcare and teenagers enjoy their own programme, parents can relax in the wellness area, play tennis, go hiking, book a massage or simply enjoy some peaceful time together.
Participation in all programmes is voluntary. Each family can therefore plan its holiday flexibly and combine shared experiences with personal time and relaxation.
Is Sonngastein suitable for families in both summer and winter?
Yes. In summer, families can enjoy hiking, cycling, tennis, golf, excursions and a wide range of outdoor activities. In winter, skiing, ski lessons and other snow experiences take centre stage.
The indoor adventure hall, pool area, hotel cinema and childcare and teen programmes provide plenty of variety regardless of the season or weather.
