The Gastein Valley offers a different area for every ski day: Sportgastein, Graukogel, Stubnerkogel, Schlossalm and Fulseck. Your ski pass – which you can also buy at the hotel – is valid in all five ski areas and across the entire Ski amadé region. That means more than 200 km of pistes right here, from the high-altitude, snow-sure slopes of Sportgastein to family-friendly runs, modern snowmaking and descents that stretch from gentle beginner terrain up to 2,700 metres. With over 800 km of pistes in total, the Gastein Valley is part of the second-largest ski network in Europe – ideal for a varied ski holiday in Austria.

Hotel shuttle to the ski lift
No carrying skis, no searching, no stress. The hotel’s own ski shuttle takes Sonngastein guests directly to the Schlossalm valley station and back again – Sunday to Friday, in just eight minutes.
Departure times:
8:20 am and throughout the day from 9:15 am to 11:00 am, and from 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm
Children taking ski lessons are brought directly to the ski school and reliably collected afterwards.

Ski lessons on holiday should be simple and stress-free – especially when the whole family is travelling together. At Familienhotel Sonngastein in Bad Gastein, you benefit from a particularly convenient all-round ski course service: we take care of the organisation, registration, billing and transfer to the ski school for you.
We work together with the largest and most renowned ski school in the Gastein Valley, the Bad Hofgastein Ski School. It offers ski and snowboard lessons for children, teenagers and adults – from the very first snowplough turns to advanced carving techniques. The courses can be booked flexibly and are ideal for beginners, returners and advanced winter sports enthusiasts.
Every Saturday, a ski instructor from our partner ski school personally presents the course programme directly at the hotel. This gives you the opportunity to ask questions, choose the right ski course and start your ski holiday in Bad Gastein in a relaxed way.

It could hardly be easier: ski passes for Ski amadé are available directly at Hotel Sonngastein – at the same price as in the ski area. Your advantage: no queuing at the ticket offices.
The ski pass is valid in all five Gastein ski areas and throughout the entire Ski amadé network, with more than 800 km of pistes.
Our tip: If you buy your ski pass online in advance, it is slightly more affordable than the daily price at the ticket office.
