Wellness, Sauna & Pool
Daily from 7:30 am to 7:30 pm. The pool is filled with radonised Gastein thermal water and has a counter-current system. Water temperature: 27°C in summer, 29–30°C in winter.
We have the world-famous Gastein thermal water in-house. You can take a trial bath without a doctor’s prescription. Further thermal baths require a medical prescription. Reception will be happy to help you book an appointment and provide information about the Gastein spa treatment.
In summer from 7:30 am to 7:30 pm, in winter from 2:00 pm to 7:30 pm. Water temperature: 33–34°C, with bubble jets.
Daily from 3:30 pm to 7:30 pm for guests aged 14 and over. In winter, the infrared sauna is open from 11:00 am. Please bring your key card and bath or sauna towel from your room.
Yes. On Sundays and Thursdays from 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm, children under 14 are welcome in all saunas when accompanied by an adult.

One bathrobe per person is available to borrow free of charge for one week. If you wish to change your bathrobe during the week, a small fee applies.
The healing gallery in Böckstein is considered one of the strongest natural remedies in the Gastein Valley. It is open from mid-January to mid-November and is around 20 minutes by car from the hotel. Reception will be happy to book appointments for you.

Yes. When you register, you receive the Gastein Card, which allows you to enjoy many offers in the Gastein Valley free of charge or at a reduced price.
The hotel has five outdoor clay courts in summer and two indoor clay courts. In summer, use of the outdoor courts is included; the indoor courts are available for a small lighting fee. In winter, use of the courts is charged in general.
Please use clay-court tennis shoes. Change directly by the courts. Reservations and equipment hire are available at reception.
Yes. It is available free of charge during the summer season. Equipment can be borrowed at reception.
In summer, you can borrow bicycles from us free of charge. We have mountain bikes, trekking bikes, city bikes and a selection of children’s bikes, including trailers. Cycling route suggestions for the Gastein Valley are available at reception. E-bikes can be booked at reception for a fee.
Yes, in Bad Gastein and Bad Hofgastein during the summer season. Reception will be happy to show you the way.
Yes. More than 70 km of groomed cross-country trails run through the Gastein Valley. Detailed trail information is available at reception.
Ski passes, from 2-hour passes to 8-day passes, can be purchased directly at reception.
The hotel’s own shuttle bus runs from Sunday to Friday and takes you to the Schlossalm valley station in 8 minutes, non-stop from 9:15 am to 11:00 am and from 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm.
Ski and snowboard storage is available in the ski room, where each hotel room has its own designated area.Skis, snowboards and all accessories are available at every larger valley station in the Gastein Valley. All ski hire shops are well equipped. Ski boot brochures from the Gastein ski schools in Bad Gastein and Bad Hofgastein are available in the hotel lobby.
Yes. Toboggan runs are available at Bellevue Alm in Bad Gastein and Aeroplan-Stadl in Bad Hofgastein. Reception will be happy to provide further information. Toboggans can also be hired directly at the hotel.
Yes, weather permitting, on the hotel’s own curling lane.
Reception will be happy to provide information about riding options in the area and can organise rides to Wunsch Pferdeschlitten and carriage rides into the Kötschach Valley.

Dog ABC
Yes. We even have two Bobtails at Sonngastein – Wolly and Schnuffel. Dogs are very welcome. We charge €29 per day. On request, we can also provide food for your dog, which is charged separately.
Dogs are welcome in the hotel lobby, Kamin StĂĽberl, bar terrace and both outdoor terraces throughout the day. Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed in the restaurant, out of consideration for other guests. From 8:30 pm, however, your dog is welcome to accompany you to the bar
No problem. For the additional cleaning required, we charge €9 per set of bedding.
Along the Gasteiner Ache or towards Remsach. The green areas around the hotel car park are not intended as a dog toilet – thank you for your understanding. Dog waste bags are available at reception, and the public disposal point is just a 5-minute walk away on the promenade.
Our housekeeping team provides special towels for dogs. Please use these, not the fresh bath towels.
