Gastein Healing Gallery – radon heat therapy deep inside the mountain
The Gastein Healing Gallery is located in the
Radhausberg in Böckstein, just a few kilometres from Hotel
Sonngastein. Deep inside the mountain, natural radon, warmth and
high humidity come together to create the unique climate used
for radon heat therapy.
Unlike the radon water baths at Sonngastein, treatment in the
Healing Gallery takes place in a separate medical facility outside
the hotel. Before your first session, a medical examination is
carried out there to determine whether the therapy is suitable
for you.
A gallery train then takes guests to the therapy stations inside
the mountain. Around 60 minutes are spent in the
actual therapy area. Depending on the station, temperatures are
approximately 37 to 41.5 °C, with humidity
levels of around 70 to 100 %. After leaving
the gallery, a rest period follows at the health centre.
For your first appointment, you should allow approximately
four hours in total, including the medical
examination, introduction, changing, journey into the gallery,
therapy and subsequent rest period. Further sessions generally
take less time.
Sonngastein as your base during your stay:
The Gastein Healing Gallery is located in Böckstein and not directly
at the hotel. At Sonngastein, you can enjoy a comfortable base for
your health stay and combine Healing Gallery sessions with radon
water baths directly at the hotel as well as dedicated periods
of rest and regeneration.
Whether Healing Gallery therapy is suitable for you, as well as the
number and timing of sessions, is assessed individually from a
medical perspective. The medical examination and therapy itself
are carried out by the Gastein Healing Gallery.
