Saunas at Sonngastein
The world feels different after a sauna session. Lighter. Calmer. Clearer. The Finnish sauna at Sonngastein offers evenly intense heat and an authentic sauna experience with an automatic infusion system. The spacious infrared sauna, made from fine woods, has a gentle, soothing effect on the muscles and helps the mind unwind. Both saunas are available to you daily.

From what age can guests use the sauna world?
The sauna world is generally reserved for adults and teenagers aged 14 and over.
Children under 14 cannot use the sauna area outside the designated family times. This ensures that the area remains a peaceful retreat for adults and older teenagers during the remaining opening times.
Twice a week, a special family period allows younger children to discover the sauna world together with their accompanying adults.
When does the family sauna session take place?
The family sauna session takes place every Sunday and Thursday from 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm.
During this period, children under 14 may also use the sauna world together with their parents or other accompanying adults.
The accompanying adults remain responsible for supervision. Children should be introduced gradually and in an age-appropriate way to heat, cooling and relaxation periods.
Is use of the sauna world included in the stay?
Yes. Overnight guests can use the entire sauna world as part of the room rate.
This includes the Finnish sauna, infrared sauna, design steam bath, experience showers and the associated relaxation rooms.
Massages, beauty treatments and thermal-water baths are not included and are booked and charged separately.
Which relaxation areas are available in the sauna world?
The sauna world includes two differently designed relaxation areas.
The Energy Room provides Gastein spring water, fresh fruit, subdued lighting and a comfortable circular bench. It is ideal for a refreshing break between sauna sessions.
The Refuge features waterbeds, suspended loungers and soft cushions. Panoramic glazing provides views towards the peaks of Hohe Tauern National Park.
Additional relaxation areas are available in the winter garden beside the indoor thermal pool and on the wind-protected sun terrace above the outdoor pools.
