Fun and games at the hotel
Straight after breakfast to the tennis court? Or perhaps a game of beach volleyball in the sun first? In and around our hotel, there are plenty of ways to make each day active, varied and full of fun.
The heart of the hotel
Huge Adventure Hall
Across 1,700 m², children can run, climb, play and laugh – every day, all year round and whatever the weather. It may sound like something from Pippi Longstocking’s Villa Villekulla, but it is very real here in our hotel’s own Adventure Hall. As the largest of its kind in Austria, it offers 38 attractions and plenty of variety for every age, from little ones to teens. Parents are very welcome too.
Game, set, fun
Tennis at Hotel Sonngastein
Sand beneath your feet, sun on your face
Beach volleyball & more
Sunny, with its own spectator stand and sun deck: our beach volleyball court is a sandy space made for active fun. Alongside classic beach volleyball, the sand court and mountain setting are also perfect for beach football, beach speedminton, beach badminton and beach mini badminton. A wonderful holiday experience at Sonngastein – with the Alps all around you.
Icy winter fun
“Ice stock sport” – Austrian sport like curling right at the hotel
On the hotel’s own curling lane at Sonngastein, winter is all about aiming, cheering and laughing together. A classic Alpine winter activity right on your doorstep – sociable, easy-going and great fun for the whole family.
Never miss a big match
Sports fun on the XL screen
The Champions League final, the German Bundesliga or the Tour de France: if you don’t want to miss your favourite sport on holiday, our Fit & Relax room is the place to be. Selected international sports broadcasts are shown every evening on an XL screen, with drinks service included.
Jump into fun
Water fun at Sonngastein
At some point, you stop counting how many laps the children have done. Jump in, splash about, climb out – and straight back in again. Outside, heated pools with bubble jets await; inside, you can swim in soothing Gastein thermal water with underwater music. Paradise for children. Relaxation for parents too.
Can guests play tennis at Sonngastein throughout the year?
Yes. The hotel has five outdoor clay courts and two climate-controlled indoor clay courts, allowing guests to play regardless of the season or weather.
During summer, use of the outdoor and indoor courts is included for hotel guests. During winter, charges apply to the indoor courts, with hotel guests receiving a reduced rate compared with external players.
Court reservations can be arranged through reception.
Are tennis lessons available for children and adults?
Yes. Private lessons can be booked with a state-certified tennis coach. The lesson is adapted to the player's age, ability and personal goals.
Group courses for children may also be offered depending on the season and demand. Reception provides the current dates, availability and prices.
As coaching availability is limited, early booking is recommended, particularly during school holiday periods.
Can guests borrow tennis equipment at the hotel?
Yes. Tennis rackets, balls and other loan equipment are available through reception.
The reception team also provides information about suitable footwear, court reservations and the available coaching options.
Guests are welcome to bring their own tennis shoes with a tread suitable for clay courts.
