‘Chit-Chat Pool’

The luxury of having two outdoor pools is that one of them can be a lovely place for all family members to bathe, chat and relax. We call it the ‘Chit-Chat Pool’ and here everyone can get together happily in water at 33° to 35°C.
From the indoor pool, you can swim through a watergate and into the outdoor pool where you can enjoy an impressive view of the Hohe Tauern range. Massage jets loosen tensed muscles. Our water is a pure elixir of life!

Dreaming to classical music

Classic pool

Our second outdoor pool is the Classic Pool. This is our absolute tranquillity pool in the open air, also with spectacular views and a particularly inviting sun terrace. Here you can pamper yourself in soft water at a temperature of 33°C to 35°C to relaxing underwater music.

Dip your head into the relaxing water and you will hear classical music by Mozart, Vivaldi, Bach and other famous composers, all in crystal-clear quality. Our Classic pool is only open to adults and young people from the age of 14.

Well protected and with magnificent views

Indoor pool

Hotel Sonngastein has a lovely indoor pool that is filled solely with famous Gastein thermal water. At a pleasant water temperature of 30°C, you can swim your lengths and, if you would like to put in a little more effort: switch on the counter current system.

A conservatory is attached to the indoor pool in which you can enjoy a wonderful view.

Swimming course

Your children will learn to swim with us!

Our state-certified swimming instructor and baby/toddler teacher, Ms. Michaela Egger, teaches children of all ages how to swim in our swimming pool in a particularly friendly, playful and competent manner. She responds to each child individually and thus enables your child to make great progress in a very short time. After consultation with her, the swimming course will be adapted to your vacation.

Your child will get the greatest benefit from a private lesson of 45 minutes for € 60.00. As part of a swimming course, Ms. Egger also teaches several children at the same time.

Barely 800 metres from the hotel you will find the idyllic Gastein bathing lake, a wonderful place to swim, just 8 minutes away by bicycle on car-free paths.

The water temperature in summer is 22°C to 26°C

Mountain lakes

To begin with, the cold pricks your skin like needles, then a sense of well-being and happiness permeates you, in the way that only a swim in a chill mountain lake can achieve.

The water temperature in those lakes is between 13°C and 18°C
Try out this adventure: With the hotel proprietor, Dr. Axel Zitka, you should always have your swimming gear in your rucksack when you go on one of his mountain hikes. It is worth jumping right in!
