Sonngastein Spa

17 thermal springs provide the “liquid gold” of Bad Gastein – The Gastein Thermal Waters.

They emerge from the springs at temperatures of up to 48 degrees celcius, soft and rich in healing powers  and have been used since as such for over 100 years.

The indoor pool,  filled 100% percent with gastein thermal water, invites you to swim in waters of a pleasant 30 degree temperature.

Chatting Pool

The “Chatting Pool” is a lovely 33 to 35 degrees celcius, our communicative outdoor bathing facility. Enter the outside pool from the indoor pool and enjoy the beautiful views of the peaks of the National Park Hohe Tauern whilst relaxing the muscles with the underwater massage jets after a tiring day. All whilst chatting to fellow guests & friends – that is pure relaxation!

Classic Pool

In the “Classic Pool”, a few steps further and also outside, everything is a little quieter: Here the waters are also a comfortable 33 to 35 degrees, and set within the lovely sun terrace with spectacular views of the Hohe Tauern National Park mountains. As soon as you put your ears under the water you will hear the clear tones of relaxing classical music from composers such as Mozart, Vivaldi, Haydn and Strauß.

Sauna and Warmth

What could be better than a relaxing hour or two in the sauna after an active day of skiing or hiking. Our sauna area with Finnish Sauna, Gastein Thermal Steam Bath and a top modern solarium are ready and waiting for you!

Rest and relaxation

Plenty of space to rest and relax here, with something to suit every taste:
The sun bathing area around the chat pool is a social and communicative place, where you can gaze around at the majestic peaks of the Hohe Tauern Nation Park before returning to read to your book under the shade of the sun umbrellas.

The set back sun terrace with its integral classic pool has a different character altogether. Protected from the wind on all sides, it is still a lovely sun spot and is a quiet place for adults and teenagers over the age of 15  to retreat to.

In the indoor area you have our wintergarden, surrounding the thermal indoor pool and flooded with natural light whilst still offering the wonderful panoramic views of the Gastein Mountain world.

For those who would like to retreat for a little peace, choose the quiet area that is reserved for adults and teenagers over 15 years old. Enjoy a refreshing glass of Gastein spring water or a fresh apple in the Energy room, or relax in the Refugium on the heated water beds or ergonomically shaped swing beds. This whole area is flooded with light and as always, has spectacular panoramic views.

The Gastein Thermal Spring Bath is the original Gastein wellness treatment: A luxuriously large bath tub filled with soft, silky and health beneficial Gastein Thermal water, and if you wish also with bubbling underwater massage jets.
